CEO's Mind
I would like to first of all thank those who at the beginning, when we were not known to anybody, took a chance with us and purchased our products. You went out and told others about us and so gave Bread House a chance to life.
I thank my lovely, humble and quiet wife Irene. You believed this dream when it was still a struggle. We walked home together many times, but now we are both driving. Isn’t God good? Do you remember when we had to sleep at the back of the Bakery? Now we can stay anywhere we want!
I thank my friends Felix and Evelyn Ochakacon who, when this thing was nothing but a dream, believed that I could make it and came in as a great emotional support through the trying times.
I appreciate Mr. Denis Mushabe of Lweza, who walked into the Bread House as a customer in our earlier harder days and upon noticing that we could not afford a mixer, lent us his own at no cost, for as long as we needed it, until we afforded to buy one. You made the struggle easy. Thank you.
I also thank Enterprise Uganda for keenly developing me into an Entrepreneur through your courses, mentorships and business health checks. It was humbling that when we were an insignificant and struggling business, you came to take me through the business development processes which have indeed proved to work in the real world! Mr. Ocici, you were right when you said that a good plan was more important than capital.
I also thank all those who along the way chose to be our customers and continued to stand with us up to this day. Many of you came in at various stages to advise us on how to become better and I am glad that we listened and acted.
I would like to thank my Parents, brothers and sisters. You have been there to cheer me on in this great endeavor. Dad, you taught me that anything, when converted into a science, becomes measurable, controllable and replicable. This principle of yours has made business growth easy.
I thank God for my friends the Breakfast Boys. We have been together since our University days, meeting every weekend for over 23 years to sharpen our minds and become better people. Those talks on tact, leadership and business are just the bomb!
I would like to interesting thank the people who work at NITA and GOVNET whoever you may be. The improvements you are putting in the government systems are amazing. You are clearly moving the country from talking about the ease of doing business, to making it a reality.
I thank all those Ugandans who ignore the trends of mediocrity that surround us and instead step out to set their businesses apart with high quality products and services. You are our chance to change Uganda from being a net importer into a net exporter. You are our chance to reversing the high unemployment rates. You are our Level 1 entrepreneurs and I salute you all.
I would like to thank everybody who has ever worked at and for the Bread House since inception. You all played a vital role in making us who we are.
Our frontline employees in customer service and sales, you on several occasions have received a customer who ruins your day, but you have learnt to brush it off and smile for the next. Thank you for handling the frontline diligently.
I thank those who work behind the scenes to keep us at number one. These are the ones doing the baking, packing, cleaning, store management, handling procurement, the drivers, loaders, coaches, heads of department, accountants and managers. Always remember that when the customers come back, it is their way of appreciating what you do.
I would like to thank the Management Team of the Bread House. You drive this ship so well, and make it easy for me to look good.
And finally I thank God because all these things happened because He allowed them to.
God bless you all.
